Documentary project – Curfew

As part of the response to the Covid pandemic, a curfew was introduced in Hungary on 11 November 2020. Between 8 pm and 5 am, people could only be on the streets with a permit. Budapest's public spaces emptied almost completely; even near the otherwise bustling railway stations there was barely anyone to be seen.

With these photographs I want to show that singular atmosphere. Most of the images were taken between 8 pm and midnight.
